Christmas Layout

Hi Everyone this is my last project for the Christmas In July Event.

Unfortunately i was unable to put up this video for this page. But i can give you a run through of how i created the page.

I started by choosing my papers and ephemera, stamps and stencils.
I then applied some clear gesso to the background paper, this helps to give the paper some tooth for any mediums you put on top so it doesn't soak through.

I then cut out my papers and stapled them together.

I placed my photos onto patterned paper, tore around the edges, then stitched with green cotton, then inked the edges.

I placed my paper arrangement onto the page and penciled in  a few marks around the design.

I then  scraped Light gold paste through the stencil in various places around the frame. Then i adhered my paper stack in place.

I also made a frame from the pattern paper and stitched and inked this as well. I place this over the paper stack before the photos.

Next i placed my photos down with foam mounting tape.

I then Die Cut and Stamped my title, Inked the edges and adhered to the page.

I used a splatter stencil and applied Light Moulding Paste around the page.

I also applied Ranger  Vermillion Red Ink to the stencilled circles.

I stamped out a cute Reindeer and placed on my page with foam mounting tape.

I hope this gives you some idea of what i have done to create the page.
Thank You For Looking and happy creating Marion xxxx

Christmas Beach Day

Christmas Beach Day Pages.
Hi everyone i have created some pages in my Christmas Memory Journal.  Below is the step by step instructions on how i did these. There is also some instructions on how i created the Handmade Papers to use in my journal.

PRODUCTS USED: Kaisercraft Peppermint Kisses Pattern Papers and Die-cuts. Let It Snow Pattern Papers and Die-cuts. Christmas Washi Tapes. Handmade papers designed by myself.

STEP 1: Start by choosing your pattern papers.
STEP 2:  I gather together my papers i have chosen and hold my photo over them. Moove the papers around until i am happy with the my choices. I then cut the papers to size and staple them together to hold them in place.
STEP 3: Next i stick my photos to turquoise  cardstock and cut  out a border. Then stick the photos to the pattern paper pieces with foam mounting tape, or i use cardboard from my packaging. I like to use this as it is more sturdier for larger items.

STEP 4: I want to use a little more of the darker turquoise in the photos, so i have mixed some dark turquoise brusho with water and splattered on the background papers. Make sure you cover your photo with some paper so the splatters don't get on your photos.
STEP 5: Pick your embellishments, tags, etc for the pages. And stick these down, some with foam mounting tape, some flat.
STEP 6:  Add some Washi Tape. Then draw some fake stitching lines to frame the page.

I hope you have enjoyed creating you pages for the album, here is another pic of some other pages i have created for the journal I can not wait to add more and finish my 2019 Christmas Memory Journal.

Hand Made Papers To Use In Your Memory Journal.

PRODUCTS USED:  Silver Paint. Silver Glitter. Mont Marte Light Moulding Paste. Stencil: Script and Unknown name. Silver Round Confetti. Geli Printing Plate. White Photo Copy Paper. Brayer.

I love making hand made papers, but i also love the paper choices we can buy there are some amazing Patterned Papers on the Market these days.

STEP 1: I applied some light turquoise paint to a geli plate with a brayer.
STEP 2: I then placed a piece of copy paper over the top and lifted off a paint print, i repeated this again a couple of times. This will give you a few pieces to work with.  If you want more paper repeat the same process with the same colour or using another colour such as i have used some Red Paint for some other colour choices i will pop a picture up at the end of the tutorial.

STEP 3: Next i have applied some white paint to the geli plate, and placed a poinsettia stencil on top. My stencil is small and a much larger stencil would have been better. I used some copy paper over the stencil to remove some of the paint, and repeat across the geli plate.
STEP 4:  I placed my previous turquoise print over the white print on the geli plate and lifted to make another print. You can probably get a few more prints from the geli plate on your other prints.

Pretty isn't it.
STEP 5:  For the next step mix together some Light Moulding Paste and silver paint, and apply through the stencil. Do this on various places on the paper. While the paste is still wet sprinkle over some silver glitter to bling it up. Allow to dry.

STEP 6: Scrape some Light Moulding Paste Through a script stencil over the page in various places. Allow to dry.

STEP 7: Use the same stencil you used for the silver moulding paste, and apply some Ranger Archival Ink in a Dark Blue  to various places on the paper.
STEP 8: Stick Silver Confetti Circles all over the page with gel medium. The draw circles around the silver confetti with your favourite white pen. This seems like a lot of work, but it comes together quite quickly and if you do multiple papers at a time it is better.

Here are some pics of a red and gold version

Christmas Memory Journal

Marion Werren Design Team Member for
 SCRAP OF YOUR LIFE
    CHRISTMAS IN JULY EVENT
For my first Project I would like to share with you A  Christmas Memory Journal.

I love making journals of special occasions it is a fabulous way to fit in a lot of photos from Special Memories. In the journal you can put multiple photos of just not Christmas Day but of all the events of your Christmas, such as your Children's Concerts, Boxing Day, and even Christmas Celebrations with Family or Friends that don't happen on Christmas Day.

For this journal i have simply used a folder from Office Works. You can also get these from Kmart, BigW and some of the reject shops. I Love them as they give you an instant hard cover for your journal. You can also cut them down to make a smaller journal or even 2 journals. For the band tie on the front i used some stretchy string, which i wound around the journal a few times, then tied ribbons to the string on the side. This makes it easy to take on and off.

For the inside pages of my journal i have gathered together a mixture of Christmas papers from my stash, while also
co-ordinating the colour scheme.
I have cut my papers into different sizes throughout the journal. For larger pages i have scored a line a 1/4" or 1/2cm in on both long edges of the paper and joined together with some double sided tape. Other pages i have just folded in half, or in  what ever size i would like them to be.

When you are happy with the placement of your pages,  Bull dog clip the top and the bottom to the folder cover.
Then Sew on your sewing machine through the centre fold. Be aware that your sewing machine will be able to sew a certain amount of papers, if you have to many your sewing machine may not cope. So in this case it would be better to do them in two lots of signatures, and then tapeing them together inside your album, or sew them side by side in the journal.
And now your journal is ready for you to place all your wonderful memories in.
Inside of my journal i have created photo flips and extra pages such as the glitter and laminated confetti pages.I also cut pieces of pattern paper and fold them in half, then stuck them to pages for extra photos or journaling. Here is a few pictures below of some of these.

The gold and silver dots are confetti circles, that you can get from Hot Dollar or Spotlight Party supplies. Or you can use any kind of Christmas Confetti that you would like.
This idea came from my lovely friend Jen Hall at " Painty Hands" You can find Jen on Face Book and just search " Painty Hands" Jen has a wonderful tutorial using laminating sheets. Please go have a look you will love what she does.
I have taped mine to other pages in the journal with double sided tape and cut down to size to fit.

This is a page i have created in my journal. I am creating another that i will put up for another tutorial.

There are endless possibilities and creative ideas for your journal, your imagination will take you as far as you want.

Don't forget to decorate your front cover and enjoy this Christmas In July Event For Scrap Of Your Life.
I hope you enjoy creating your Christmas Memory Journal.
